Japan 2018

We passed through the Kanmon Straights on our way to Busan.

A quiet day at sea, after a little bit of rough night at sea.  One of the staff told us that it is always rough around Yokohama. Tonight is a formal night, so Craig will be in his tuxedo and looking quite spiffy. Tomorrow we land in Busan, South Korea.  Going to a Korean Barbecue!  Will try to post pictures....

We attended muster for the safety program, which took twice as long as it was in English, followed by Japanese version. About 75% of the passengers are Japanese, which is quite different. The food in the buffet, is more oriental slanted, with udon noodle bowls, etc.  so interesting ! People were lined up along the shore, waving bon voyage. Have never seen that before. A lot of fun.

We spent the night in this lovely economy hotel, near the airport. Had some really awesome features. Craig promised we could get a bidet like this when we get back home ..... it dispenses warm water ! We wandered around the hotel while waiting for the bus to take us to the ship, about 1 1/2 hours away.  Really enjoyed this hotel. People are very nice and they even have coffee !

We arrived at Tokyo/Narita Airport after 11 hour flight. We booked the Premium Economy class, and it was quite nice. We were provided with blankets and pillows, had more legroom, and were served 3 meals with drinks. Not bad at all! We are now waiting for our friends to arrive from San Diego. I was informed that I could not take pictures in the baggage area, so, of course, I didn’t!

we will be leaving LAX on Monday, June 18, 2018, for an 11-hour flight to Japan.  Will hopefully survive it without snapping at each other too much ! Will update and post pictures.
